Toppers Pizza ... Lunch-time Angels!

An enormous thank you to the big hearts at Toppers Pizza (South Boulevard) for their awesome contribution to my lunch today for 1st shift.

I was watering my petunias two weeks ago when a car rounded the corner coming into the neighborhood.  The car passed me, went halfway down the street, then made a sudden stop, backed up and stopped again, and out hopped Angie.  She waved and started walking in my direction.  I was embarrassed to learn Angie was my not-so-new neighbor who had moved just 5 doors down over a year ago and we had never met.  Apparently, she knew a little about me because of AHOP, but I didn't know anything about her.  She told me she had no sooner moved into the neighborhood when she started seeing police cars at my house and, being new to the neighborhood, it put her on edge.  So she started asking around trying to find someone who could give her some information about the house on the corner, thinking 'this can't be good.' Relief is an understatement when she learned the little house on the corner was a simply cooking breakfast for a few of Charlotte's finest.    

She went on to say she managed the Topper's Pizza shop on South Boulevard and she wanted to help...and help she did!

Angie, if you read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart!  Nine officers came for lunch today and enjoyed your delicious food -- the pizza, guesadillas, and Topperstix.  Your generosity spoke volumes today.  My officers left my house not only feeling full...they left my house feeling APPRECIATED!  ♥
