Today was the last breakfast until after the Democratic National Convention (DNC) is over. Six officers and one sergeant came this morning. There was a slight hint of Fall in the air. Nothing major....just a feeling this time of year.
Thank you Effie, Andreas and Irene, co-owners of Effie's Cafe & Grill, for providing this lovely fruit bowl for today's AHOP breakfast. Effie's is located at 13024 Ballantyne Corporate Place, Charlotte, NC, right next to the building I work in. They catered lunch for a big meeting the other day and their food presentation was awesome. Of course, what caught my eye was Effie's beautiful fruit bowl. I stopped by yesterday to get a price on a small fruit bowl for Saturday and told Effie a little about AHOP, and she wanted to help. She asked me to bring her the bowl I usually use and she put together this beautiful fruit bowl for today's breakfast with her compliments and thanks to the CMPD.
I would be embarrassed to show you a picture of my flimsy little fruit bowl my guys are used to getting. Suffice it to say, I don't think they were surprised to learn I (didn't) make this. :)
